HUMILITY: The Success of a Trainer

What teachers do you remember over the years?

Which trainers in your companies have contributed the most to you?

There are basically 2 types of trainers:

  1. Those who modestly share their knowledge and have their minds open to change and other points of view.
  2. Those who impose their knowledge and consider themselves possessors of the absolute truth.

We are in the 21st century. Information is available to everyone and we also live in constant change...

The Trainer must be a facilitator who guides, accompanies, helps transfer knowledge to work life, shares professional experiences, focuses on practice and obtaining immediate results through applying what has been learned.

From which teachers did you learn the most?

I had a professor at University who did not allow any questions. He spoke during his 2 hours, wrote on the blackboard, read the book on his subject and said goodbye, telling us the homework for the next class. He did not allow anyone to disagree with his opinion, there was never any debate or controversy. Communication was one-way, therefore it was only Information.

When the teacher creates a close and interactive environment, all students dare to contribute and enrich the final learning. For this reason, gamification is such a powerful tool in Effective Training of the 21st century: Learning while having fun!

Humility is Security.

When the trainer speaks to us with humility about what he knows, explains stories with a common thread and shares his experiences, without imposing his truth, he allows us to ask and disagree... it means that he is a self-confident person.

He is a trainer focused on the learning of his students, he teaches them to think, to create, to apply knowledge, not to memorize and repeat content.

Humility on the part of the trainer and humility on the part of the participants: the path to success!!!

Allow me to share an acrostic about how a HUMBLE trainer from the 20th century works. XXI:

hace the Protagonist student.

ORUse questions to find out the participant's opinion.

Motiva to bring out the maximum inner talent.

Yonteactates, gives and wants to receive Feedback.

lHe believes democratically, inspiring his people.

dEnjoy with your students.

ANDHe continually evaluates his learning and also evaluates himself.

Therefore, let's work on Bidirectional Humility and we will all learn more and better...
